German measles or rubella is a mild,
communicable virus disease, usually caught by
children. It is marked by a sore throat,
pinkish rash, and slight fever, and has an
incubation period of two to three weeks. If a
woman contracts it in the first three months
of pregnancy, it may cause serious damage to
the unborn child.
